Scope
As a pilot flying for Great North Airlines, the DASH 8-100/300 Captain is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of the aircraft while providing customer service and giving on-time performance due consideration. The DASH 8-100/300 Captain supervises other crew members and has primary responsibility for the flight. The DASH 8-100/300 Captain reports to the Chief Pilot.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Company aircraft
- Ensure all pre-flight, inflight and post-flight duties are completed safely consistent with published Transport Canada regulations and standards as well as Company policies and procedures
- Ensure that all crew members perform their flight duties consistent with published Transport Canada regulations and standards as well as Company policies and procedures
- Any other responsibilities and duties assigned by the Chief Pilot
Requirements
- 3,000 hours Total Time
- 500 hours propeller time
- Must hold Transport Canada Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL)
- Must hold Transport Canada Category I Medical Certificate
- Able to obtain Transport Canada Security Clearance
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Able to operate Company aircraft domestically, trans-border and internationally without restriction
- Aviation diploma/degree an asset
- Must be fluent in English language
- Effective communication and problem solving skills
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills
- Flexible and willing to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling
