When a natural disaster, a critical community safety event requiring tactical lift, or other essential or emergency situation requires commercial aircraft, Great North may have what you need. This tool allows you to determine our response capabilities and Fleet Call the aircraft directly with our operations team in real time.
Fleet Call gives qualified organizations direct, real-time access to the status and location of Great North aircraft available for emergency and essential aviation services, along with direct communication with the operations team who can make live commitments to deploy.
What Fleet Call supports
- Disaster relief operations: community evacuation and repatriation, front-line personnel transportation, emergency and essential air cargo (combi configuration DASH 8-100, no dedicated full-cargo aircraft, ideal for supplies-in, people-out operations), and resource assessment flights.
- Law enforcement and military (Canadian and NATO): tactical team transportation, confidential missions, government inspection flights, border security operations, and surveillance missions, in standard aircraft configuration.
- Secure custody transport: detainee and high-value detainee transportation.
- Organ transportation: time-critical movements, activated directly with our operations team.
Fleet Call is for essential and emergency operations only. All other flying should follow standard procurement protocols, even if your organization qualifies.
How it works
fc.greatnorthairlines.com is a distinct landing page for qualified, registered Fleet Call users.
Requesting access. The first time you sign in, you will see an explanation of the program and a short registration process; who you are, your organization, the type of emergency and essential services you are involved in, along with other standard administrative steps. All information gathered strictly complies with PIPEDA requirements and is confidential.
Once approved. When you need to determine if we are a fit for your mission, simply sign in and you can see available aircraft, what base they are located at, and deployment time, all live in real time. All you need to do is:
- State your requirement in one line via voice or text, or simply tap an open day on the availability board and it can help you populate the fields.
- Authorize and submit. We have everything we need to launch once you authorize the Fleet Call. The information exchange, along with the required quotes, comes directly from the operations team, who are already working on deployment plans. One final authorization takes place via email to ensure all parties are properly informed and aligned. Once complete, you have completed the Fleet Call.
Who can use it
Access is only by approval. Provincial and territorial agencies and their related departments, federal government agencies, First Nations, emergency response agencies and organizations, municipal agencies involved in emergency and essential work, and brokers focused mainly on essential and emergency operations are eligible for Fleet Call. If you are an international organization operating outside of Canada, please fill out the form. Approval is based on our ability to operate in any given jurisdiction from a regulatory standpoint.
If that describes your organization, request access at fc.greatnorthairlines.com. Tell us who you are and what you would use Fleet Call for, and our operations leadership will review your request and send credentials. Approvals are reviewed individually. The approval process can take a few hours, so we suggest registering in advance of an essential or emergency Fleet Call need.
If your need is immediate and life-safety critical, call us at 1-855-667-8408 instead of waiting on a form.
